Before the war the Orouq family lived with strong traditions of togetherness. Abd al Rahim recalls how his parents six brothers and two sisters gathered daily around meals and rituals. His late mother Um Asad was known for her cooking and for welcoming neighbors even during displacement. Her spirit of giving defined the family until their home and lives were taken. This testimony reflects the warmth that lived in Gaza homes before they became rubble.
